Hi, I'm Mat. I use novel functional, molecular and imaging technologies to understand how the brain modulates painful sensory information:
our attention, motivations and emotions all have the power to affect how much pain we perceive.​
I also enjoy anything outdoor.

As a Marie-Skłodowska Curie Fellow, I trained with Prof. Anthony Dickenson (UCL) and Prof. Stephen McMahon (KCL) in in vivo electrophysiology and in vivo GCaMP imaging in rodent models of  bone cancer pain.

2013-2015

Institute of Pharmacology, Poland

Funded by the National Science Centre, I worked on endocannabinoids and pain in Prof. Katarzyna Starowicz lab.

2012-2014

MSc in Biotechnology

Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland

Funded by European Regional Development Funds, I trained in molecular analysis of neurotrophic factors in animal models of depression in Prof. Bogusława Budziszewska lab. 

2009-2012

BSc in Biotechnology

As a Fundation for Polish Science Fellow, I trained with Prof. Leszek Fiedor in photodynamic therapy of cancer.
